Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s largest port operator, has acquired Global Shipping Services, a Humber-based provider of stevedoring, warehousing, storage and port agency services, for an undisclosed sum.
Global operates across the ports of Hull, Goole and Immingham, handling more than 1.5 million tonnes of cargo a year. Managing director Peter Waud will stay on in his current role, describing the deal as the next chapter for the business.
ABP said the acquisition would expand its cargo-handling capabilities and support growth across its port network. The shareholders of Global Shipping Services were advised by corporate finance firm RGCF.
