ADP Group, a family-owned geotechnical drilling business based in Gloucestershire, has acquired Manchester rival Geotron, bringing two family businesses together to create a combined national operation.
The deal extends ADP’s operations into the North West alongside its South West base. The enlarged group will offer a wider national footprint, a larger combined fleet of drilling rigs and specialist plant, and a broader range of ground investigation, geotechnical and geo-environmental services.
ADP said Geotron’s family culture mattered as much as the commercial case for the deal. Geotron’s leadership said combining the two businesses’ fleets, expertise and regional strengths would give clients a stronger national service. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
